Computational Marine Hydrodynamics Laboratory (CMHL) was founded in 2006 to meet the requirements of marine structures design for digitization, refinement, intelligence and system synthesis, CMHL has long been devoted to the research of advanced CFD methods for marine hydrodynamics, developments of CAE software and platform, as well as applications of CAE software for complex flows in the fields of integrated ship, marine structures, underwater vehicles, offshore renewable energy devices, etc. The GATERS coordinator was invited to give a keynote presentation in this virtual event involving CFD activities in GATERS in a technical presentation entitled: “H2020 GATERS Project – A computational design analysis of the Gate Rudder System for propulsive performance using the Design of Experiments Methods”.

Access the GATERS online open-access database
The GATERS team at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne has been responsible for setting up and managing an online open-access database to disseminate research outcomes for further knowledge and to develop cooperation. The open-access database was established based on Figshare. Figshare is an online open-access repository where researchers can preserve and share their research outputs, including figures, datasets, images, and videos. It is free to upload content and access it in adherence to the principles of open data. Figshare has also been recognised and recommended by the European Commission as one of the Open Research Europe-approved repositories.
Disseminated research outcomes from the GATERS project can be accessed via Figshare here: https://data.ncl.ac.uk/articles/poster/GATERS_project_brochure/14541255.
Alternatively, all users can access a specific dataset from the GATERS homepage by using the provided exclusive Digital Object Identifier (DOI), which Figshare generates. Therefore, a download directory consisting of all exclusive DOI will be produced by containing basic dataset information used as reference information to users.
