GURDESAN has been established in 1982 to design, manufacture and repair a wide range of ship and offshore machinery and equipment. The company has its specialist manufacturing and machining facilities, which are spread over two sites of 42000m2 and 8000m2 in Gebze industrial site of Istanbul, and it is supported by 400 GURDESAN staff including 50 engineering and design personnel. The company designs and manufactures Propulsion Systems, Manoeuvring Systems, Hose, Service and Cargo Cranes, Anchor and Mooring Winches, Rescue-Boat and Life-Raft Cranes, Free Fall Davits, Deck Equipment, Hatch Covers, Hydraulic Equipment and Ladders. GURDESAN also has the expertise to repair and maintain complex Propulsion Systems, Manoeuvring Systems and Deck Machinery Systems.
GURDESAN has recently expanded its site further by the purpose-built design and manufacturing unit to produce a broader range of marine products and to respond to naval manufacturing and machining requirements for various components of naval submarines. Since 1982 it has been engaged with the manufacture of Winches, Deck Equipment, Deck Cranes, Life-Saving Systems, Propulsion Systems, Manoeuvring and Rudder Systems and Hatch Covers. Including their previous experience, the GURDESAN, therefore, has more than 50 years of experience with the design, manufacture and maintenance of the above-mentioned systems and products. In addition to being the major manufacturer of the ship machinery and equipment in Turkey, GURDESAN has always been active in developing and widening its production range outside Turkey in Europe, Middle-East and Far-East markets.
In completing their equipment design, manufacturing and repair business, GURDESAN also operates a shipyard, which was established in 2004 to design, manufacture and repair a wide range of ships and offshore structures. The Shipyard with its specialist manufacturing and machining facilities located in Yalova (over a 52000m2 site area) is supported by the specialist GURDESAN staff including design and construction personnel. The shipyard can offer designs and manufactures from basic barges to more specific ships, including coastal cargo vessels, ferries and other offshore vessels. Besides its primary infrastructure and specialist equipment, the shipyard is supported by a large floating dock (300m x 62m x 26m) with a 50.000 tonnes of lifting capacity to serve for manufacturing, repair and maintenance needs of ships, their propulsion systems, manoeuvring systems and deck machinery systems.
