The 25th Numerical Towing Tank Symposium (NuTTS) was organised by blueOASIS – Ocean Sustainable Solutions and took place on 15 – 17 October 2023 in Ericeira, Portugal. This conference focussed on the Numerical Work Fosters Ocean Sustainability and had an objective to provide a forum for informal discussions among experts in the field and to disseminate the latest results.
Early career researchers and PhD students were especially encouraged to participate. Two members of the GATERS project, Mr Ahmet Gurkan and Dr Cagatay Koksal from the University of Strathclyde, participated in the conference. They presented two technical papers based on the GATERS project. The two papers were entitled Ç S Köksal et al., “Influence of Gate Rudder System (GRS) Rudder Angle(s) on the Propulsive Efficiency”; and A Y Gürkan et al., “Comprehensive investigation of the form design of the gate rudder for propulsive performance using design of experiment method”.
